My provider also does global billing and it was getting tricky using my FSA card - they kept rejecting it because it wasn’t related to a single date of service. I was able to negotiate with the birth center’s billing dept to pay at once at birth.
Thank you! That's helpful
I think OP’s concern is about paying it all by the 28th week when some of it is for services in the next calendar year
OP- The first thing that comes to mind is to talk to your provider about some of your insurance situation constraints.
But you’ve already probably tried some of that.
Another option out there- switching providers. Some offices are very compassionate about the hoops folks need to jump through to get things paid for by the insurance they…. Already pay so much for!
Some birth centers around here are really great about billing shenanigans.
And some OB offices have a billing specialist on staff that is gifted and enthusiastic about their job!
So you could consider switching providers. Do what’s best for your family, all factors considered

Why don’t you just pay in payments until the 28th week? Ours asked for two payments but i don’t think anyone can stop you from making payments towards a balance as long as it’s within the due date.
