Thinking about making a move from agency to our state’s PBS HQ. Obviously less money, but also more purpose. Curious if anyone has made a move for purpose>money/prestige/etc and if it’ll be worth it, or just make me miss clients and their budgets and the craziness of agency life (which I love)

Switching from commission to salary!

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role that doesn’t pay commission. The new role will have a higher base but lower overall earning potential.

What % haircut should be expected? As an example, if I make 100k (base + commission) today, would it be realistic to ask for 90k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?

I have a Q that I worry is going to make me sound like a jerk, but want some opinions. I do strength training 2x/wk with a trainer who was assigned to me at a gym where I bought a pack of sessions. I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
