JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

should you give your trainer a Christmas gift ? I usually do - don’t need to spend a lot, but a nice gift certificate to a restaurant or fitness store or a bottle of a nice liquor.
Of the $150, your trainer is getting less than half.
And $150 is crazy high.
If you are getting value out of your training sessions and want to give a small gift. Otherwise don’t sweat it (pun intended)
For $150 a session you are the gift 😂
Honestly though that rate is a joke. Check out small groups training. It’s much cheaper and you get the support of working out in a small group with individualized attention from a personal trainer.
Morgan Freeman on voiceover:
"It was at that moment that the two keyboard warriors stopped and hugged it out."
*roll end credits*
Folks… I am not asking a question about whether or not the rate I pay for training is too high. I am well aware that it’s very high.
I am asking opinions about the holiday bonus I am feeling pressured into giving. Does anyone have any thoughts about that part in particular?
I wouldn’t give a gift just because he’s dropping hints. That’s tacky in my opinion and would say something to the gym owner. You’re not obligated and only give if you want to.
I would not get a trainer a Christmas gift
I would not get my trainer a holiday gift unless I worked with them for years and had a special relationship with them. Maybe a holiday card and MAYBE a $10 starbies card. I don’t get my eyebrow lady, my hair stylist, my nail tech, or my attorney gifts why would I get my trainer one? Holiday card and that’s it. It’s wild he’s trying to plant that seed
I think it’s ridiculous to give a gift. You are paying for a service and you aren’t obligated by any means to give a holiday gift. Completely up to you, but I would have never thought to give my trainer a gift and it’s even worse that he/she is hinting at that. If they went above and beyond and I had a good relationship with the person, then maybe…but the dropping hints of gifts to you would make me not want to give a gift.
Why would you sound like a jerk? The trainer I see never expects anything. She gets stuff sometimes but she’d never say anything like that. Anyone telling people they expect gifts makes them the jerk.
“I can’t wait to see what my trainer gets me for Christmas”
… (contd from above) and I had to make financial sacrifices elsewhere to be able to do this, but I prioritized it bc I needed real, guided help getting healthy again post pandemic. Should I be giving this person a holiday gift (of money) that I think he’s trying to plant the seed for? Thanks in advance for any constructive thoughts… appreciate it!
Absolutely not. This is the only valid answer, honestly. You don't "HAVE" to anything. Your compromise with them is to pay for your sessions and even that you can stop doing. Everything else is either a commitment to yourself or something you CHOOS to do.
Feel good about not giving him a present? Just dont buy it and move on. Feel bad about it? Establish a value and follow it by any means (because, imo, if you have all these doubts and you buy something over the value you told yourself you'd spend, you'll probably deal with a feeling of "stupidity").
You're free to choose, no "have"s.
Look elsewhere - your rate it out of wack. $150 per training session is ~3 months of membership fees for the average gym. Unless you workout @ Equinox then that’s a different story
My annual membership at 24 fitness is $240
Starbucks gift card
Wow that’s crazy. You can find personal training for $50-60 elsewhere. I’ve even found decent training for $25 per hour. Shop around once you finish your package
So I’m in Los Angeles area. I’ve gotten the deal twice by signing up for group classes. If you sign up for group classes then they offer cheap personal training. One was a CrossFit gym the other a Bootcamp.
The trainer is manipulating your feelings and being unprofessional. Step back and ask yourself what feels appropriate to you.
I would stop into a local produce shop and pick out a great orange, crisp apple, dragon fruit or couple of kiwis and two blemish free bananas. Pay the store a wrap it in plastic with a ribbon. Add a personal note saying thank you for his patience with a new client, his encouragement that helps when you are discouraged. And that you wish him good health and happiness. That is enough. It is thoughtful. And it is cost appropriate to length of relationship and his lifestyle.

Where you paying that ? Like Lifetime or Equinox ?
It’s not nice of your trainer to ask that from you.
But you are already in relation that you need his/her help. Whether you like it or not just give a $50 gift and get it of your back.
It’s not rewarding trainers. It’s just one person who is being shameless asking for a gift. If op wants to continue training with that person than giving a gift of an insignificant amount will get the problem of the back. But long term op should not train with this person.
My trainer has not mentioned it, but I am planning to get her something. I train with her twice a week. She’s also been my dog sitter when I have work events, and it is basically like I am paying someone to train me and be my friend for two hours a week.
$25 Starbucks GC.
You’re not besties. They don’t need a gift. The comments are awkward and unprofessional
Change ur trainer after this initial duration.
I stopped going to trainers and took group classes for this exact reason. They try to sell stuff, ask more, it was getting annoying and uncomfortable.
