I'm looking to grow my career and would appreciate any advice on skills or certifications that could improve my opportunities. Thank you!

To boost your opportunities, here are a few targeted suggestions that have helped many admin professionals level up:

• Technical Skills: Deepen your Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros) as it’s heavily used for reporting and inventory. Also consider learning a CRM system like Salesforce or Dealertrack, which are common in automotive.

• Certifications:
• Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) – Excel Expert level
• Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) from IAAP
• Project Management basics (Google Project Management Certificate on Coursera is affordable and practical)
• QuickBooks or basic accounting certs if you handle more financial tasks

• Soft + Industry Skills: Focus on automotive-specific knowledge (parts, service processes) and add value with process improvement, vendor management, or even basic data analytics.

Many admins in this space transition into Office Manager, Executive Assistant, or even Operations Coordinator roles with these additions. Have you thought about updating your LinkedIn with specific achievements (e.g., “Streamlined invoicing process, reducing turnaround by X

Only For MacBook Users -
I slightly dropped my MacBook and apparently (slightly) damaged the keyboard and trackpad as per service Center. I don’t see any visible damage to the system but that’s what they say and are charging me about 28k for this even though my system is in warranty period (will complete a year in a few days). Are there any workaround for this? Like I can use external keyboard or maybe negotiate, anything else?

The recruiter for my company says there's no one out there and I get that a LCOL area in Pennsylvania won't have the applicant pool as a bigger city but I find it hard to believe there are no tax people available for the jobs we have.

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
