Hi everyone,

Seeking some career advice, I recently completed PCP(Payroll Compliance Program) from National Payroll Institute. since I started studying payroll and trying to get the jobs related to it, All I see in job posts is employers are asking for years of experience. Being very new to Payroll I have no experience, I tried reaching out HR through LinkedIn, applied many jobs but never heard back. I even offered volunteer work. Any advice how can I start my career as Payroll.

Have you thought of working for a staffing agency? Most often they process the payroll for those they contact out. Plus, you would get some HR experience under your belt.

Staffing agency is the one you can go for it at your start of the payroll job.

So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?
