The job market is making me think that I need a different strategy. I am trying to land a role in Canada (10 years prior experience) with no Canadian experience and not a strong network.

Have any of you used or got personal feedback about career caoches out there? They are charging a big sum given that one is unemployed right now but wondering if its worth the investment. Any general info / feedback on specific coaches is much appreciated :)

For those that didn't make it thru their
MBB interviews and were told to reapply in a year, what point did you start studying again? Did you take a couple months off or still practice throughout?

My new company is offering MAC laptops but I’ve never used one before. Will it be easy to transition? Any tips?

I’ve been working as a vp of BD for the past year for a startup IB and I had hoped that it would get me a conversation for moving forward in the industry but I can’t seem to get a second look from most places. I’ve had my resume looked at, I’ve done all of the follow up emails, but still nothing. Any leads to moving into a position anywhere? Note: I’m in my mid 30s and made a radical? career change from operations and logistics management to the financial sector. Not sure if it matters.

Has anyone successfully turned their side gig into full-time? Or an income enough that it could be?

Tomorrow, I know I will be asked to continue pushing forward with pre planned campaigns that upsell products and services that to groups already in dire straits. After the events of this weekend, I ethically disagree with acting “business as usual”. What are the requirements to promote from analyst to senior analyst? I’ve been with Deloitte for two years now and am wondering how I go about making myself promotable. I don’t have a CPA, CFE, etc. Is one of those required?

Just out of curiosity, have you ever started a new job and thought what the hell am I getting myself into?!?

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

I was looking at PM roles only that were around $110k, one company approached me with Sr PM (title bump) at $110k. I’m getting scheduled for final interview loop next week with this company and planning to negotiate if an offer is extended from them.
