What are the top in-demand functional/specialist skills in the federal consulting space? I’m more of a generalist at the moment and I’m trying to build my skill set to be more marketable.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Any tips from women who had to take maternity leave while contracting? I’d been hoping to switch to a FT role before COVID then well you know...After 3 months I finally landed a couple contract opportunities but no luck yet with a FT role. Tips for bankruptcy associates who eventually want to move in-house? 3rd year associate in bankruptcy/restructuring group doing mainly bk lit but a few deals too. Need to stay in BL for at least another year for the money, but eventually want to move in-house. The path to in-house seems more straightforward for general commercial lit or more standard transactional practices. Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review.
