I am a lawyer with a masters in public policy & governance, currently working as a law and tech policy researcher at an NGO.

I want to shift to consulting or product or corporate side to get more industry experience. My core interest areas are: privacy laws, data governance and AI ethics. The TMT vertical appeals to me. I am unsure of where start & what kind of companies should I target since I dont have any privacy specific certifications. Suggestions & advice solicited. TIA.

I am a consultant working in one of the big 4. I have got a call from DE Shaw HR for a role in their Project Finance and Investment Research team focusing on Energy sector? Being an MBA in Finance graduate, I am in a dilemna on which path might be better I the long run -consulting (where I am more of a generalist, taking up random asks from clients and onshore stakeholders) or Project Finance & M&A where role might be more specific.

Base salary: 60k
Quarterly quota (per quarter): 107k
Quarterly bonus (per annum): 23k
130% Annual bonus = 11.5k
"23% commission on quota minus base": 37k (don't understand this)
"Proposed 23% commission on 150% quota minus base": 86.5k
Sales commission threshold per month: 22k
OTE: 122k
Cost/Sales: 28%

That base salary is lower than my previous base by a significant amount by 32.7%

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. Currently going to school for my cannabis certification but I rarely see any jobs that offer cannabis research.
