Hi! I’m a data analyst in Target (India), with ~4 years of experience in this field. I just got a hike, and am working towards getting a promotion this year. I want to get an idea about the average salary (or the range) of a senior data analyst here. Also, the % hike that people usually get during a promotion like this. Thanks!

Hey guys, I cleared the interview from IBM and got call for final salary discussion, so prev. IBM recruiter told me they can offer max 16 lpa but now on final discussion they say can give me max 60% of my current ctc(I.e. 8.83 lpa) that too will be with variable pay I blv..so now my question is how can I defend them that they atleast give 16 lpa otherwise no point of switching company from tcs to IBM.total exp: 6.5 years Rel exp: 4.5 years..so they catch this point and told for rel we give 60% only.IBM

Short answer: LOL. No. You’re severely underpaid.
Considering your expertise in data science and yoe, you should get 30 lpa.
You are being severely underpaid. Try to ask your manager for more hike. If he says it's not possible, or if he gives you a very low hike you should look opportunities elsewhere
You should get at least 15lpa.
Thank you for the response. I joined only 1 year ago. So should i ask my manager in the upcoming appraisal (March) to give a big raise or just change the company? What's the best option?
Thank you all for your reply! I am going to ask for a big hike in the appraisal (next month). As many have suggested, based on what the hike is, I'll either decide to stay or shift.
Underpaid. Go for 18+ (base)
