Help- The project I am on is about to kick off a huge multimillion dollar implementation but I know I am underpaid. Also I feel like I am not being utilized to my full potential, and have witnessed some *not* best practices. I want out, but I also think this implementation is an opportunity for learning and in 9ish months could offer better exit opps. Should I stick it out or is 2yo consultancy and a masters degree worth looking for a new job now?
Any opening for a Tech-lead with 8 years of experience.

Anyone feel victimised or traumatised by their choice of profession in Law? Anyone planning an exit plan? Any feeling regret for ever considering law? Anyone thinking about saying farewell to law and becoming a yoga teacher instead? I am only 30 now... I wonder how I will feel at 50 still stuck in law. This career "fit" brought me more misery, disappointment & regrets than anything else. Repeatedly betrayed by business colleagues & preyed upon by Narcissistic psychopaths in legal practice...

I am in the midst of wrapping up my undergrad degree in Information Systems from the Beedie School of Business and was wondering if anyone was hiring for business analyst, project management, product, or finance related roles?

Hello! Can I please get some advice on where to look for new roles? I'm looking into program manager roles. Been getting extremely frustrated lately with my current role in tech consulting and the gaslighting and mansplaining in a regular basis is just the cherry on top. Any advice is appreciated🙏🏽
Can people give me their thoughts on an offer and if it’s fair:
Role: Amazon TPM L5 (3.5 YOE)
Based: Washington DC
Signing bonus: 46k/38k
RSU: 910 units
After my HR round today, Hr called up and said that will move forward with the offer but approvals with higher management might take some time as there is a hiring freeze.
Do you think offer will be released? And how much time these approvals take ?
She mentioned at the end that they are definitely going to offer as all feedbacks are positive.
But it all depends on the approvals.
I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?
I'm shameless! Who wants to hire me? Full cycle corporate and commercial real estate sales rep who wants to get into BDR/SDR roles. #ninja
deloitte accounting/finance (FRTR) advisory GPS practice campus hire starts at 61k in DC...seems low?
Any one in compliance at an investment bank? What was interview process like? How long is interview process?
I’m currently 7 weeks pregnant, so it’s still too early to make any announcement. I don’t have to work since my husband takes care of bills and since I got laid off with covid happening, there were no jobs to apply to. Now people are reaching out to me or I do see job postings that I would love to apply to, but if it gets to the point where I am offered the job, do I tell them I’m pregnant right away? Would they not want to hire me anymore? I want to be honest
When you're still relatively junior (1-2 years) how much do grades matter when lateraling? Academics is a definite strength of my resume and with the market softening it would be nice to know it will still somewhat matter.
Cap billable hours.
MBB folks, I’m a Product Manager (non-tech company) and interested in working at MBB.
Which level/role does MBB can offer me ?
The NY telecommuting tax rule is complete BS. If I didn’t live in NY and didn’t deal with any NY clients, I shouldn’t be required to pay tax because my company’s office (which has been essentially closed) is in NYC /rantover
Alibaba RIP 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Conservatives concerned about the current political environment/direction we’re heading in: The Rubin Report has a great episode with David Horowitz today. Worth a listen!
Do you lend your bitcoin?
I’m in a bit of a dilemma. During covid I took a government role. WLB is amazing and I’m finally recovering from burnout. Job is easy. Team and management is quite good. Pay is fine (could be much better.) I’m still interested to challenge myself and build my career so I do want to move to something more fast-paced as things get back to normal. On the other hand I don’t know if I should keep this job and use the extra time to work on side-hustle and hobbies. Also may apply to MBA next year.
I have 17 years of experience and have an offer from EY GDS for role "Senior Managing Consultant" (Rank 32) under Technology Consulting.
Most of my experience is with Solution/Technical Architecture in the Telecom, Media and Energy & Utilities domain.
I would like to understand if EY GDS assignments are allocated taking into consideration one's domain expertise also or is it like an open field where any kind of business has to be learnt within short time as part of consulting ?
Hey all, I’ve been looking to do a pivot and was just notified of an interview request — was wondering if someone would be able to share what Goldman Sachs’ interview process is?
What's on your playlist at work?
Where can I see my last year’s rating ?

Stupid question, but I’m curious about the bowls feedback: There are two positions at Adobe I’m extremely interested in, but they’re for University graduates and MBA students. Would Adobe, or any other company, consider a student who doesn’t fit that criteria? Or is that an automatic disqualification? I graduated 2020 if that matters
Hello, can someone please tell me if it is difficult to come back to consulting if you venture into the industry roles. Like corporate development roles. Happy to have a discussion if you have any queries
I work in m&a mostly doing PMI, divestiture work, and ODD. Any type of role I could move into FAANG at? Know Corp dev is usually for bankers or MBB folks
If given an offer with a large base but not a ton of equity (ex: $120k base and equivalent of $10k equity vested per year) at a tech company expected to IPO within a year, would it be wise to ask to exchange cash for equity? Ex: $110k base $20k equity? Put differently, are huge jumps in valuation typical for IPOs, and thus should I try and maximize that component if I’m more than happy with base?
1) it’s a bit low
2) MBA tiers are 3 and 7
Correction: MBA tiers are 2, 3, and 7
That offer seems pretty spot on. Point of comparison: my spouse got TC of $250K-310K (wide bonus range) as a Director hire after 6 yrs in IB, T3 MBA.
(Pretty LCOL city, though)
That's pretty good, on par with some possible FAANG exits, though you could do up to 15% a bit better with some other FAANG exits, but only in SF/NYC. I'd probably take it.
Thanks! I think the delta in COL between where I live now and nyc/sf would be way more than 15%.
I think that’s fairly high end of the range for that type of role in industry. What vertical?
Doesn’t sound like a low ball to me. SM in F100 strategy here and my TC is 200.
I’m at 7 YOE at a T2 and negotiating a strategy role for 300
Man. 300k with 7 YOE? Where?? Is it a HCOL city?
OP - if you are a principal at MBB, your TC should be higher than $300K. Just based on that, this would seem low to me. Am I missing something?
Still doesn't compute OP. Are you saying you would take a roughly $50K cut to take this job? Because the average principal at MBB should be pulling in $350k+ TC. If the role is looking to recruit consulting principals, that should be the bar. $300K seems to be more targeted at our tenured managers right before principal
I’m a director and I make a little less then that. FT200
