I'm not sure what's your background and yoe is, but I'm sharing this keeping in mind that someone is already graduated and starting fresh and looking for the Cyber Security Analyst role.
Get good basic knowledge which is required before even leaning security which includes linux, windows basic OS, networking, ability to read code which you can find related modules in TryHackMe.
After this start with courses like TCM PEH,Intro to Active Directory from HTB Academy, Blue Team Security, INE EJPT, Linux Privilege Escalation, Windows Privilege Escalation.
Going these courses will overlap some of the knowledge you will gain from one course with other, but it will help you out in terms of learning attacks and defense side by side.
To get ready for the job, atleast do the above, then jump onto leaning core concepts, you should be familiar with the Mitre Attack framework and their defence because at the end you would be required to defend the attack, hence both knowledge is required. Start with the learning basic logs for linux and windows specific events codes, get your hands on understanding, handling phishing. Get your hands on Splunk or related SIEM tool because at the end you'll be working on SIEM tool to uncover attacks from the logs.
Note : I'm not saying you should do Red Team Operation courses, but atleast basic pentest course would be required.
Though path is difficult, but it will be required you to go through if you want to break into cybersecurity. Since you want to shift to different domain, current market is very hard to break in even having related education experience people are finding difficult, and on top of it now expectations of employers have shifted and they are looking for candidate who knows these things before even for a cyber security internship role and quickly able to start working in their environment.
You can also look for internal movement program if you have one in your current company. Certs does help to break the HR, initial screening barrier, so go for the ones employer looking for like CEH, Security+ (I haven't done it nor will going to, but it helps if nothing is working). Start showcasing your knowledge and updating your course completion on linked, github profile and update these skills in your resume.
PS The route is long and you will enjoy if you're really passionate about the field, otherwise if you're only switching the domain because the career seems fruitful and going for the money, then it will hurt you as it comes with a cost.
