I have been working in public health and global health for almost 20 years. I am about to start a new role as a pharmacoepidemiologist with a pharma company, and I am wondering if any of you have previously made this move and if so, do you have any advice to offer? Did you encounter any challenges when you made the move or was there anything that you think would be useful to know?

I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. We only have 18% bonus and $37k LTI per year (approximately depending on stock price) for directors. Our base salaries are all over the place for directors.
