I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. Would any one be able to speak to this from experience or share advice

Hi All. Looking for thoughts on vertical expertise and whether it’s just a good sales tool or whether anyone has considered structuring the company in this format because it drives stronger work? I’ve always been fairly anti vertical because I think it stifles ideas and thinking, but you can always have people that specialize that you pull in when having bespoke industry knowledge can help. What do others think? Do clients want this from their partners?

I recently accepted an offer at AWS! My role is fully remote and I was wondering how I go about buying monitors and other stuff. Does Amazon have a procurement portal where you buy stuff day 1 or do I have to buy things on my own and then get reimbursed?

I applied and got a position for aws . I got an offer and asked some questions. I didn't get a reply, from multiple individuals. Two weeks later received a phone call that my recruiter was let go and I was in limbo essentially, they said they'd get in touch with me closer to the timeline we discussed and they were sorry about the mixup. I called back the person to get more information (since I was running errands) and nothing again. No response and no other way to contact this person. Ideas?
