I am passionate about equity research and corporate finance after taking up these certifications from NYU with Prof Damodaran. I want to pivot into this area however given the strange job market or AI based filtering my resume only gets matched to typical bank roles. LinkedIn is not as useful as it used to be 15 years ago. Our 5 month old started daycare about 5 weeks ago. We’ve already had to keep her home for 2.5 of those 5 weeks due to catching various illnesses (croup, rsv, brinchiolitis, etc). Both my wife and I have been sick most of that time as well (gotten it from the baby). Wife is thinking we get a full time nanny for the next 4 months to help the baby build antibodies. Copywriter with serious imposter syndrome at new job! How do senior writers up their game? Was in-house 1.5 years and underpaid in NYC. With only previous freelance experience (and nonprofit and grant writing before that) figured I had to slog through it for years. Cut to now, 6 months into a new copywriting role at huge tech company. My salary almost quintupled overnight. I think I’m doing great, but that depends on the day and who I work with (no other writers by the way).

I’ll be asking my last job for a letter of recommendation but I’m not sure who to ask. My boss, who is lovely and would write an amazing LOR. Or my boss's boss who would put minimal effort in but it would have more weight.
