Hi all.
Has anyone in IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.
And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?
I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.
Thanks in advance
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

So are you saying your pip was not performance related?
It was but that’s bs. I had no issues with my performance. Once the new boss joined that’s when I was placed on a pip. And it just so happened that he stayed while everyone else was fired. SUS
PIP’s are always a way to let people go. If you’re put on one, you should be looking for other jobs immediately. They don’t care about improving your performance if you’re already at that point or they would’ve allocated resources or training towards it earlier on. They’re looking for a way to fire you with cause.
