Talk to a psychologist or doctor who specializes in ADHD. If nothing else they will give you behavioral tips to help cope with it
Yes, I have an appointment. But has anyone else dealt with this?
Get drugs, honestly they help keep my life in order. (Also you’ll lose some weight from not feeling as hungry, best perk!) I’ve lived with this since I was 10 (30 now), PM me if you want.
Thank you. I may.
Get off your phone. I have late diagnosis ADHD and I swear it's phone-induced. Meds and a shrink help.
Just because you test well does not mean you do not have ADHD. Trust.
Trust me - I don’t test well.
I’ve had ADHD symptoms for years (pre-phone) and finally started some meds recently. Too early to say if it will be life-changing, but I’ve experienced some big changes.
I’m pushing 40 by the way, so it felt like a late start for me too. One thing I would say is just assume your initial prescription and dosage will be wrong—you and your doc may need to adjust a few times before finding the right combo for your chemistry. One thing I’ve noticed is an increased ability to focus, but sometimes it can get out of hand and I’ll focus so much that I look up 2 hours later having forgotten I had other stuff to do. Good luck!
Having it most of my life when I randomly tried Adderall, it was the most frustrating experience in my life because it's like you have this constant buzzing that suddenly went away. But I decided I didn't want to rely on drugs for the rest of my life, I am 30, so I learned to cope by now. It's a lot of work, but maybe it's worth it. 🤷🏻♀️
