I use what’s called the Super Improvers Board from Whole Brain Teaching! It worked really well for my students! You can check it out on WBT’s website for more info!
The best thing I ever did was get rid of my clip/color chart. I use the Ron Clark house system in my classroom. It focuses less on "rules" and more on building classroom "norms". I use this in combination of classdojo (only focusing on positive). My parents and students LOVE IT.
they will have house meetings to set goals each Monday, and Friday we will celebrate our house accomplishments during our whole group class meeting.
I have found that the color chart was not for me either! I worked in a lot more whole class positive reinforcement rewards as well as pieces of “gold” (yellow squares of paper) that were redeemed at the end of the week for special activities. As soon as I started rewarding good behavior so often, I seldom found a need for the color clip chart anyways!
I’ve been using ClassDojo for at least 8 years now and love it. It’s allows you to focus on positive behaviors but ask keep track of negative behaviors as well and I love the parent but in! It’s been great for parent communication and for conferences as well.
ClassTag is also it there. I haven’t checked into that but know a few teachers at my school are using that. Good luck
I tried Classtag last year and didn’t like it. It sent spam to my parents.
