The closing date should be right on on your signed contract.
Way past it, some of their emails even reference 5/21 and I ask and they say oh we are not sure
Coach
What do you mean the buyer doesn't have a closing date? It should have been in their initial offer.
05/16 we are way past that, my agents keep telling me the closing date is TBD and they will check with the buyer
If you were supposed to close 5/16 and haven’t, I would send a notice to the buyer that they have defaulted on the agreement and that you are keeping the earnest money and relisting the property. Sounds like time to engage an attorney. Also, go to the broker and ask for a new agent.
Update, I had to follow up with agent, lawyer, lawyer officer and apparently we are closing June 1st... And they need wet signatures I had asked if I could do it online a week ago no one replied, if I had taken a vacation not sure how I would've signed. Nightmare.
This has been a complete nightmare, the agent I liked left the team and I'm stuck with these people
Everytime I ask for a clear list of what I should expect to receive, what I need to do. They just can't answer the question, I said for example I need to shut off utilities, no clue if I'm getting paid through transfer or check, no dates, why not mention that? I'm asking chatgpt a lot...
I'm not sure what state you are in but in TX, speak with the broker. Some states call it the managing broker or designated broker. Maybe the agent is new but a whole team that's unable to answer your questions is suspicious. You can also report to the real estate commission if you suspect foul play or any unethical behaviors performed by your agent.
