Hi- recently applied for a recruiter role. I’m in final interview. I have a zoom meeting I’m assuming it’s to discuss the salary/ start date. It’s entry level what salary should I negotiate and how. I have no recruiting experience. It’s most tech recruiting. But I would like 50k salary with commission/ bonus.

I found out the hard way - not negotiating on salary can have a huge effect down the line. Research what you’re worth and add on 20% so they can bring it down abit.

There's something very meta about this as you're potentially about to be negotiating against future versions of you. You being unable to negotiate effectively against your recruiter means you are joining a strong organization you can learn from.

Dont be afraid to ask for what your worth, I would use your commission as a guage for your base salary and 6 figures plus after two years but a 50K base should easily put u into 6 figures after 2 years

DO YOU JUST ASSUME THE COST OF YOUR MARKETING ACTIVITIES? I am looking to allocate their cost in the marketing budget in a way that won't rely on several layers of assumptions. Ads seems the easiest, but even then there's time and overheads... I've been looking for a reliable model.

It’s kind of expensive ($250 per month, but only an extra $130 over an average local gym). I like saving money but my health has definitely taken a dive because working out is not as enjoyable. Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.

What's the best form of compensation to ask for and why?

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. We're not sure what those incentives look like yet, but here are some post-announcement rumors from my co-workers:

Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.
