Hi Wiproites, I joined Wipro in mid-Dec and received my payslip for Dec month. I do see Group allowance, is this the WBP component?

Yes if u don't use WBP. It will be shown as group allowance

Cool, thanks!

Yes you need to avail meal coupon and other thing then only it will be shown in your salary slip

In case I don't do that, I will still get it under Group allowance, right? Meal coupon is mainly for tax exemption, right?

Do Additional Allowance is provided in In-hand salary

I, a childless woman who does not plan to have kids, am jealous of the parental leave parents get to take from work from choosing to have a child (a big life event). I 100% understand that they are working in a different way by taking care of the baby and being deliriously worn out in the process, but it makes me sort of jealous that unless I have a kid there is no life event that I can take ~3 months away from work to focus on and enjoy, plus have my hours prorated and a job to come back to.

Hey y’all, what are some good exit opportunities to look for in Canada? Some context: I’m a healthcare consultant without a clinical background, but I really don’t love the work I’m doing. Not interested in joining the public sector and unfortunately there aren’t too many startups or interesting tech companies in the healthcare/life sciences space in Canada. Any thoughts?

I am taking another sick day this coming Monday. It's necessary for both my physical and mental health, which are severely compromised due to the stress of this insane school year (and the last one, and the spring before that -- I think this is cumulative with COVID, the political situation, etc.). I have never taken this many sick days during ANY school year in my 20+ years of teaching. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone else having anxiety about taking so many days off?

Help me understand this. From a salary of 120k, I’m getting a total tax deduction of 27%. That’s $32,400 going to the government. 32 thousand?!?!?! Do I ever get any of it back? Why so much? It technically reduces my income to $87k. Can someone please explain. I’m appalled.

I think he should go back to market. He says no it’s a good offer mostly cash and he rolls forward to keep 15% of company. He doesn’t need money as this isn’t his first sale. Seems crazy to leave a lot of money on the table but maybe im thinking about it wrong. What do you all think? He owns 60% of company.
