What changes are you thinking of making? You probably were the perfect fit, but there is also a real possibility that somebody else was also the perfect fit.
I can see the concern if it’s more about a company than you. Also feels like interviewers can cherry-pick whatever they want with so many decent candidates looking right now. Best of luck next time, and getting that far is still a win.
Getting a rejection after four rounds cuts deep, and I am sorry to hear that. I have had this same thing happen to me, and I just took it as a sign from the universe that something better was out there for me. Keep pushing forward; you will find something better.

true! sometimes the reason for rejection and redirection is only clear in retrospect. but it always come through!!

This happens more than people expect. Sometimes it comes down to internal candidates, a slightly different experience mix, or even just team dynamics. It doesn’t necessarily mean you weren’t qualified — hiring decisions often hinge on factors candidates never see.
