To compare bids.
Input all three of them and ask Chat to outline the key differences, call out any red flags, and make suggestions. This is of course assuming the production approach for them is similar.
Ask AI… I’m being serious. Tell it what you do in your day to day and how you support your team. Then ask it what are the tasks it can best help you with
This is both bananas and a great idea.
I tried using it for a complicated run of show but it wasn’t successful. Probably would be for a more simple one. Am very curious to see how others are using it.
Use it to check the box, check its work, and do it over when no one is looking
That’s awesome! Use it to your advantage
AI is good for cutting in half something you wrote without AI.
Not sure what else
…Asks the senior producer. Figure it out.
Ok bully
Honestly, I’m not in the weeds anymore producing projects, so most of my time is hunting new business opps. I’ll write the email with all of its imperfections and let Claude or ChatGPT “revise/improve” it. The message is still coming from me but with polish and tonal improvements.
On projects I’ll have AI organize my notes so that I can drop clearly organized messages into Slack.
I make workback schedules with it. If you know what dependencies are in your project, it’s good at setting that up for an overall campaign.
Otherwise the rest of the time is just playing around and asking questions based on what my approach would be on certain production scenarios. It’s not meaningfully useful in my daily work until it gets better.
Logistically, my work uses the Microsoft suite of products, so I work with copilot. I can theoretically make an agent to set up meetings based on avails of the attendees, ask AI to find an email I can’t seem to locate anymore, summarize teams meetings, action items, next steps, etc… if your AI is trained / has access to your work products it can then be very useful from an organizational standpoint.
Hi! how do you get it to summarize team meetings? What app are you using?
Meeting notes - consolidating feedback from calls & next step summaries.
Revising copy for presentations, department comms & new business pitches.
Love some of the suggestions here like WBS and bid comparisons (though I do enjoy comparing personally - reminds me of when I was more hands on on production making the bids/keeps my production brain sharp.
Essentially - anything mind numbing you would normally punt over to a coordinator do for you, chances are there's an AI application for it.
Brings up an interesting question about how you train the next generation... But I think the overall transition will mean the next generation will be more focused on the meaningful human based tasks over admin and paperwork.
I had an unconventional path to producing coming from the film and tv industry. But I agree that the folks who get the human part of the balancing act are going to do well and use AI to beat out the folks who are better at computing.
Slight slant here - how do we help the folks who are good at computing? I mean they provide great quantitative analysis and I don’t know that I would trust ai just yet to always nail it. Would someone have a job checking do QA on AI work?
Couple of ways.
Help me write emails or notes to the team or vendors , taking in a list of notes and helping me work through tone and reducing redundant details. Especially good when trying to tap dance around egos or delivering tough news.
I also use it to generate a clear recap / next steps with a meeting transcription is available.
It’s also good to compare bids and help feel out how competitive they are.
I’ve also used ChatGPT for more technical hurdles, like working through some small repairs and even helped wire up some equipment that showed up unassembled. (Take a pic w ChatGPT and walk through steps to get to your desired state)
