You don't mention client names.
If it’s a public client it doesn’t matter. Who audits the company is publicly announced every year via 10-Ks and proxy’s.
.e.g. i worked on construction clients with revenues between 100 - 600 million
Industry and revenue
I try not to mention the client name but it’s not super confidential, I just live in an area where the recruiters probably know someone who works at the client and I don’t want the partners finding out via that way.
I’ve worked on confidential clients before and you definitely know if they are or not. You can’t even talk to other people at PwC about it. But your office might have different policies.
Obviously you don’t tell people anything specific about the engagement.
I mention public jobs
I think you can technically mention any public jobs you have worked on. However, I've always thought it's just best practice to leave the name out and focus on industry/size.

Haven't swtiched a job yet but I am wondering why can't we mention public jobs?People can always check audited financial statements and find who the auditor is...
Been wondering this myself. Let’s get some input in here
Tbh I mention the names and it’s never been an issue
