How common is bait and switch?

Scenarios I've encountered recently
1) interviewed for manager role and they came back and offered me a supervisor role
2) applied for manager role and the recruiter came back with they're interested in you but for senior only.

In both cases they said I'd make manager in a few months which I don't trust. I have a manager offer elsewhere so I'm not completely unqualified

Hi! I interned for Deloitte last summer, starting full-time this summer, and currently working a classified government job in-between. Will this be an issue during my second background check? How many billable hours per week is considered at capacity? I’m getting pushback on boundaries I’m setting about additional matters and marketing work from my firm when I’ve been billing 60-75 hours per week for the last 6 weeks, and I’m still behind on my work. I feel like it’s reasonable to not kill myself further to fit in more/turn things around faster at this point, but am I being unreasonable? I expect my workload to remain at this level through the end of the year at least.

How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. This case has been my baby, and I’m going to try it with my boss. I tell my boss up front that, for family reasons, I’ve gotten a new job and will be moving to another city two weeks after trial will likely end. He then gives my trial witnesses to another attorney, but is still going to make me do grunt work. Is he unreasonable or am I?

Putting in my two weeks with no job lined up to spend some time with my family and volunteering. Anyone have experience with a gap in employment? Will this ruin my chances of getting a “good” job by January? Have I gone completely insane?

Accounting advisory big4 or IA at F100. Both senior roles. Roughly same base pay.

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.

F100 has 14% bonus, perm remote, and immediate vesting 401k over 7%.
