If it's high end boutique - as in, they hire mostly clerks, T15 schools, and former biglaw litigators - I'd expect there could be substantial bonuses. Otherwise I would expect very little.
I’m at a small boutique corporate firm. We get annual bonuses of $10k and then spot bonuses when deals close. Spot bonuses can range from $2500-20,000. But it’s all discretionary so some years are better than others.

My question would be is it really a “boutique” or is it just a small firm.
There is a difference and some firms try to paint themselves as boutiques when they really are not. And even then, not all boutiques have decent bonus structures. If this information isn’t readily available with a documented bonus structure you could easily pull up or request on your own, I’d wager you’re at a small firm that isn’t going to pay competitively.

You can ask now. Just set up time to talk through the review process. Start with a handful of softball and logistical questions (timing, who, process), then ask specifically about range and criteria. Explain that you want to set align your expectations, and have goals in mind to finish the year strong.
It's ok to change jobs - if you want a bonus now you need to change companies
