Asking for a raise is never selfish! It's business, not a charity. You are contributing to the business, and you deserve to be compensated fairly. Ask for what you deserve!
You can always ask for a raise. You deserve it! Asking for a raise is not selfish; everyone wants and needs to grow in their career. To ask for that: Start saying " Can we talk about aligning my pay with my growth and market value?", then show impact with actual numbers or results from my work.
Haven't you proven that you're the opposite of selfish already by securing more money for everyone? That seems pretty selfless to me, and I'd take the company's willingness to do this as a good sign. Ask for a conversation with your boss and highlight your contributions and impact as justification for the raise request. You've got this.
