Weighing whether another year of IB experience would be helpful, or would just make me one year older at the same starting point in PE.
I’m 1.5 years out of college as an analyst at a middle market bank within the healthcare M&A group. Getting worked a lot but starting to operate as an associate on deals. Debating accepting an offer for a newer, lower-MM healthcare and growth focused PE firm. I know I want to go to PE at some point, but what are some thoughts on when you should go?

Is an MBA necessary for the CPG industry? I’m still on the fence

Associate at an AmLaw 100 firm doing patent work. I applied to a part time masters program to try to pivot to a different technical field (still doing patent work, but in something that interests me more than what I’m doing now). Do I try to stick it out at the firm while getting the masters, ask for a reduced hours schedule, or get a part time, non-legal job so I can focus more on the program (one year).

Working as a Business analyst in BFSI for last 10 years. ( Married, have a kid)
What should be the next step
Current options I thought-
1. Planning for a switch ( but ye shayad chalta rahega)
2. Planning for a good certification- did SAFE product owner and all but kuch khas nai hai
3. Planning for a PHD ( part time ) not sure, not clear may be a good option as I can move to education line.

Anyone ever make the switch from consulting for a life sciences consultancy or boutique to an ops role in a fund investing in payer/provider or healthcare systems?

Having a hard time deciding between two offers. Pay is very similar in both roles.

I need some advice. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration with 20 plus years working in different Healthcare roles. I am working as a PBM Claim Specialist. Joined LTI recently in P3 band. However not allocated any project. Got a call from the resource management team to relocate, which I rejected upfront as I was promised a role in the location I am posted. It has been over 2 weeks since I am in bench. Can someone explain how PTO works in house? I have only ever worked at a firm, starting my first in house position end of this month. I’m used to just blocking off time on my calendar if I have an appointment (like the rare occasion I have a dental appointment, well child checkup, etc) and then going. Do I really need to take PTO for these things? I’ll be working remotely 3-4 days a week for reference and I’m talking about days when I’m remote.

Thinking about switching in house jobs from one bank to another. Current job is great for work life balance but no promotion prospects and pay is below market. New job offers a better title and better pay but work life balance is a bit of an unknown. When I joined my current company, we were on a quarterly bonus structure with guaranteed payouts each quarter. This was, in fact, how the recruiter said he could meet my salary request.

The company just announced we are moving to annual payouts only, with no payments for 2023 until May 2024. There are no raises happening.

This amounts to 12% less money in my pocket in 2023 plus inflation.

Is this standard, or should I be looking for opportunities elsewhere?

Had two rounds of interviews for an in house role and really like the company/job. I followed up Friday regarding next steps and was told they are still interviewing and should be wrapping up soon. Advice on how to stay calm? I want the position and need to know if there’s a way to speed up the process.

Can anyone help me wrap my head around this post Series C start-up equity offer? It’s an IP director position, the the base is $170 with 10% bonus (both lower than I was expecting). There’s also an equity component: 0.15% of current fully diluted equity. This equates to about 30000 shares at a strike price of $2. They also indicate the preferred stock price is $6 and preferred stock equity is $188k (whatever that means). They are in the middle of a new financing and valuation round.

What would comp look like in-house after one year at a V10? (I know I should stick around longer, but I’m curious).

Is it difficult landing an in-house position as only a second year corporate associate in big law? I know some people who went in-house straight out of law school and some who had no transactional background but went in-house after just a year of practice. Not having that same luck on my end.
