How do I keep my job search entirely confidential when the legal community in my city is incredibly small and gossipy? My current firm has suffered a massive exodus of partners over the last six months, and the remaining leadership is incredibly toxic and paranoid. I’ve completely checked out mentally, doing the bare minimum to hit my hours while I secretly hunt for a new job.

Only apply for positions that you REALLY find appealing. Silently network. You will find one that will keep your interest confidential . Tell the firm you are applying for in a professional and diplomatic way on your cover letter the truth, that you request the potential mutual interest of interviewing each other to be completely private until a finial decision is made so you may maintain a positive and professional relationship in current firm. The right one will honor this. And I’m sorry to say, until you find the right place, just keep being as professional and positive in your current place until then. It’s hard, but this needs to be done. We are professionals and it’s more about cultivating ourselves as opposed to cultivating others around us. Best wishes.

Just bought a hybrid vehicle, my house came with a wall outlet in the garage specific for EVs (shown in the picture) but but none of the adapters that came with the car are big enough to fit in there. Any idea what adapters I need to buy to make this fit? I’m a total newbie with this stuff. In case it helps I just bought a Volvo XC90. Builder says he thinks that’s a 220 that he installed in the wall

I am scheduled to fly from NYC to Mumbai via Paris next Wednesday (Jan 5) for a ~10 day trip. Have any of you, your family, friends, etc. flown a similar route (I.e. from US to India via Europe) in the past week? If so, what is the arrival process (Covid test, quarantine requirements, etc.)? I’ve had all recommended vaccine shots and I’m only in Paris for a 2 hour layover (not leaving the airport). Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I was just offered a CM Manager position at Evelance aka Anthem with moderate salary 100k with 10% bonus. I was previously making 110k with 10%. Recruiter said probably would not match my previous salary and I would have to justify why I want more that job offer. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?
