How do you actually figure out your market value for your level? For me, it was always talking to recruiters or coworkers, but that hasn't taken me too far. What is the game of making trial and error in offers like? I feel unprepared to play it.

Spend time looking at as many job ads you are qualified for as possible, and pay attention to the range they are offering. It doesn't have to be a guessing game, either. There is nothing wrong with asking the recruiter what the range is for the role, and aim somewhere in the middle.

I treat it like ongoing research, not a one‑time answer. I look at ranges on a few salary sites, ask recruiters for bands, then actually test the market by applying with the number I want and seeing who bites. It’s awkward at first, but after a few processes you start to see the pattern of where you’re “priced in.”

Shower thought:
Why did Toronto (or Canada?) change the exit signs from the classic red EXIT sign to the green running man? Wouldn’t it confuse more people especially elders in finding the exit?

Also isn’t it a waste of money for businesses to replace perfectly functional exit signs when renovating?

I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late.
