How do you all deal with new responsibilities being added to your day to day, without the compensation or title recognition? Resource management seems to be the catch all for things that don’t fall into others’ duties.

Lean on other firm functions. Anytime I get asked a question on something like immigration, learning, risk, etc., I tell the person whom to contact and to cc me. Keeps me in the loop but passes ownership to the appropriate party

Agreed ^. Having a manager who defends and clearly outlines the boundaries of your team helps too.

National or Enterprise?

Hi all! I'm new to Fishbowl and a recent college graduate. I'm looking for a full-time role once my summer internship ends and I'd appreciate help in finding some openings.

I have experience in pharmaceutical advertising (account services) and the publishing industry (editorial). I'm looking to work at a company I can utilize my passion for writing and account experience. Maybe public relations or corporate communications? I'm up for anything!

I appreciate any suggestions that come my way! :)

Finally made the career shift into tech product management (originally in consulting). It’s been exactly a month of being in the role, but any advices on how to spend the next 60, 90 days+ ahead?

So far I’ve been focused on understanding product, getting to know the team, contributing to project management areas where I’m more used to. Thanks!

My sister might divorce with her husband, they have a baby of 1.5 year. We came from a divorce family and honestly never thought it would happen again - I feel powerless and I don’t know what to do. I feel bad for my sister but I am also mad at her (the fault is always in the middle) because they are not trying to fix it. I am also scared for the baby, I perfectly know what it means to grow up in a divorce family and as much as parents are present is not the same.

How many of you biglaw associates are on your grind trying to recruit people to earn a big referral bonus? I’m treating it like a side gig. Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.
