Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?
Had a bad showing for case interview about a month ago. I knew the material i just straight up had a bad day. Took feedback in exit interview and feel prepared to reapply for a different role with no cool off time… should I still wait or shoot my shot?
Asking as I am curious if my app will be flagged as I just applied to another role recently.EY-Parthenon

When I was managing retail, I used to come up with little games to keep things fun and keep everyone in a good mood. Like, whoever won got to pick their closing duties.
One game was picking a random word from the dictionary and seeing how many times you could naturally sneak it into conversations with customers.
Another one—way easier in retail—I’d intentionally move a few things out of place and tell the team the challenge was to find them while cleaning. It actually started because we had marble egg paperweights, so it turned into a kind of egg hunt.
Later, when I was leading a recruiting team, we did mock interviews. I’d give someone a specific personality or profile to play and we’d run through worst-case scenarios. It helped people learn how to handle tough situations, but it was also genuinely fun.
It might sound a little silly, but pulling out something like this once a week to break up the monotony really goes a long way.
I don't deal with it, I just do it. Thinking about it too much will put you in a depressive spiral. You start doing the math on how many hours you spend at work vs. with people you actually care about and existence starts to feel pretty miserable.
Sad how true this is
If you want drama in your life, create it in your personal life. “ don’t try to fix something that isn’t broken, because you need excitement.”
You have to make your own day unique. For example, you could pick one small thing to get better at each week, make an effort to have a real conversation with a guest or coworker each shift, or notice one tiny way to improve how things run and actually try it out.
Yep, what the others said. You pretty much just have to not remind yourself of what your reality is and keep living it. However, on the bright side, it truly is a blessing to be able to make money and afford yourself your needs and some wants. A lot of people wouldn't be able to say they can do that.
I find that fine tuning my professionalism keeps me interested. There is always a way to improve your position, giving the customer a memorable experience and making more money for you.
