When i was a fresher my salary was below tax slab so my external exployer did not generate any form 16 for me. When tried to switch my new organization wants me to submit form 16 as BGC process. I’d focus on collaboration, not hierarchy. Your experience is an asset, not a threat. Offer support without undermining.
I think it’s okay to have a bit of back and forth with them, they’re obviously your manager but it’s okay to still be able to teach them things. Any good leader should still be open to learn.
Yeah this kind of thing can definitely be awkward. I would try to focus on the good that they're bringing to the team and not over think the age difference. If you try to notice the good, you might be less frustrated by moments when you feel like you know more than them.
My new supervisor is 10 years younger than me. At first, I did get some feelings over it. I turned it into motivation to do something. Asked my manager about taking on some new responsibilities, and I am now very happy to be doing more of what I want to. Point of all that being, figure out what’s making it awkward for you and work towards fixing that.
That can definitely feel tricky. I try to focus on the fact that we both bring different strengths to the table, supporting them without undermining them goes a long way, and usually they end up appreciating having someone seasoned on their team.
