I give myself the whole month of June off, anything goes and no prepping for fall. Its the one month of the whole year I feel zero stress. Then starting in July I get back into professional development and lesson planning mode.

Thats a great idea to partition it that way! Already 9 days in but I may try to do that for the rest of June.
Not the best answer for sure 😬 but most years I lean into taking a nice break. Like no big projects of any kind until I feel like I took time to just decompress, rest, sleep in, binge on trash, go out to lunch w friends, and to put time aside to cook some healthy nutritious meals -I love to cook when I have the time.
I find when I do it this way, I’m better prepared to tackle a few bigger projects in the summer. If I don’t get them all done…oh well
I think I’m getting lazier and lazier as the summer goes on lol ☺️☕️📰🌻
💯 June is ALL about self care and rejuvenation. Do what I want! Last year, I went on a big trip to Europe. This June, nothing. Nothing scheduled, just do what my mind and body desires. July will be time to hit the ground running with appointments, planning, PD, etc. I get ONE FULL month to fully decompress.

Just like the above comment, I think thats a great idea. I'm going to try that. Thanks!
I just added a new good habit of a mile walk first thing in the morning

I think thats wonderful. I have been neglecting exercise and now that its summer I have no excuses!

My wife works full time, so I try to stay as close to her schedule as I can.
Plus, it's kind of liberating to wake up early without something I have to get up and do right away. Being able to take my time walking the dog, having coffee, and eating breakfast before I jump into laundry/gardening/yard work/projects is nice.
Later in the summer, coaching football keeps me on a more regular wake-up schedule as well.

Its true. I was up early today by accident due to a crazy windstorm we were having but it didnt wake up the kids and I enjoyed sitting in the silence. I think having something later in the summer like that is great, thanks for the ideas!
Me too.
