Why would you disclose this info?! No need to be that truthful in the interview. Just say you’re looking for new opportunities that align better to your interest. Also, are you Accenture OP who asked this exact paraphrased question 😂
Seriously. Must be same person.
2 options: 1. You tell the truth and talk about the scale of the lay-off to make it clear it wasn’t performance. 2. You don’t mention it and come up with the reasons you would have left by choice and frame it that way
Disagree with the above. Given the state of the job market, layoff reflects poorly on the company not the individual. And over the course of a career it will happen to many if not most people No stigma. If it comes up own it.
Depends. If you're already laid off with no paycheck to show for it, it's best to frame the truth about the layoff. If you're still employed and in notice period, you don't need to talk about the layoff.. Just that you're looking for a change
I would try to negotiate some period in the future (2 months + out) as a buffer so I can say I’m employed as I interview for jobs.
You can always be more vague, e.g. performance has resulted in cost cutting measures and have seen my coworkers be directly impacted by this and I am wanting to be proactive
I would not say about lay off at all. It’s hard to convince them that it’s not performance related. And, you won’t have much scope to negotiate about the potential offer.
I don’t see any possible reward for disclosing that truth.
