How hard is it to find a job that respects work/life balance?

I don't think it is hard at all. They are out there. You must be honest and truthful with yourself and know what you are looking for in terms of salary, job title, and job capacity.

It depends. The higher you get, the fewer daily tasks you have to do. As you have your subordinates do the job, you can have a getaway week(s)/time off. But just like every other industry, you’ll take on more responsibility, esp when it comes to making decisions or solving problems.

On the contrary, hours don't get better. The higher you get the more responsive you're expected to be

It is hard. That's the reality. But don't worry, it is not impossible. You just need to have a little luck and faith.

Actually, I find it hard. It's like trial and error. If wlb is not great, then you move to another.

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

Saw an article about the chilling effect that the Big Law salary raises are having on in house hiring since associates cannot bear to take the pay cut. Do we believe this? Of course if an in house role offers less than a first year salary it’s a tough pill to swallow, but what if the role offers in the mid-200s for a substantially better WLB? Thoughts??
