I feel like in the “nicer” areas, everyone’s trying to keep up with the Jones’. Everyone drives a BMW, has a big house, has implants, etc.

Outside of these areas, it’s a lot more relaxed, but never say Washington state-level relaxed.

Interesting question. Dallas is the center of status culture in Texas. Yeah, every place has it, but the late ‘70s/early ‘80s TV drama Dallas was set here for a reason.

However, there are laid back and relaxed people everywhere. Varies by city and neighborhood. The west side of the Metroplex, Ft Worth and its burbs, are more laid back than the east/Dallas and its burbs. Closer in and north of Dallas burbs have a higher concentration of strivers.
