If you can swing it the Woodlands is a better option
It’s better for families who wanna live in the burbs. If you’re young and single I would not recommend it.
I live in Spring. For sure a family area, very suburban. Not a lot of night life, but a great area.
Heights or Midtown or even Montrose/Upper Kirby. Woodlands might make sense if ot os close to where you’ll be working. Spring is a lot of families.
Rising Star
A lot of yopros who work in spring (see XOM) live in the loop (especially the Heights). The drive is worth it versus being in suburbia until you have a family (obviously personal preference)
I agree with this. I used to work at Exxon and lived in spring but should have moved to the heights. Spring is kinda boring tbh
It’s a mixed bag. Spring has a good mix of really nice, and very sketchy areas. I grew up in Spring, went to Spring High School, and lived in the Spring area up until about 7 years ago (when I moved out closer to college station)
I've been in Spring 2 years but lived in Houston almost my whole life. Never cared about night life stuff and knew there wasn't much of it around here. If I want to do anything I drive 10-20 minutes to the Woodlands or 30-40 minutes into town. Personally I'd rather have a shorter commute to work and (slightly cheaper rent) and drive more on the weekends or whenever I do something around Houston. I will say Spring has grown/is growing a LOT lately. Quite a few new shopping centers and apartments and offices that were just grass lots 1-2 years ago
Woodlands has some swankier apartments for a bit more than you'd pay deeper into Spring, but it's also in a different county, so diff electricity providers and some flood zones
Spring is very different depending upon where you live- around 2920 in Klein, Tomball, or The Wooddlands ISDs are great. Very family-friendly area. We’ve lived here for about 12 years. Be sure to talk to a realtor familiar with the area! We literally moved 1.2 miles between my daughter’s kinder and 1st grade year to go to a different school in the same district.
I have been here since 2007, close to champion forest and spring cypress
I am In the same area. Love it. Very family-oriented. I would look for homes zoned for Klein, Tomball, The Woodlands. Even without having kids, it will put you in a nicer area. You do not want to be too close to 1960, IMO
No, there isn't much to do. Go either to the east or west coast or if you like the mountains, go to Colorado.
I couldn't recommend it for young professionals. But it's overall a nice place, just not for those who seek to grow their careers.
Say more please.
If you are a young professional, look up midtown, heights and upper Kirby in Houston TX.
Spring on 2920 is great
Not a good place for young professionals. If your pocketbook can afford it, look for Heights, Midtown, Montrose, West University, EaDo or as close to downtown as possible.
