Between two offers, "Associate Principal" for m&a consulting in the Healthcare industry vs a Director at a F300 company doing M&A and Partnerships. Consulting pays about 50k more. What does the future look like in consulting? I am a bit nervous jumping from from "industry side" to the "consulting side".

My backend skills are limited to Nodejs, AWS, Python (scripting), database (SQL,NoSQL). Do I need to upgrade myself. I wanted to go deep into backend rather than becoming full stack. What other skills should I pick.

Question for my friend at KPMG. Her MDs and Partners have been directing her to eat her hours. If she charges over 45 hours she will get emails from management and when she charges over 65 she got a call from a PPMD. I work at deloitte and have never been told to do this and thought it honestly was illegal. Thoughts? Hi guys, I got an offer from x and i discussed that with my current. At 1st current said they can only give 30% increment. I said I can't stay with this cause i got 70% and expect at least 50%(as the 70% included VP and the current org don't have vp, they have bonus). Then they said they can do max 45%. I really wanted to stay here so I said okay to current. Then now hr called me and said they are matching the offer(no vp). What should I make out of it? What made them change their mind?

1- To have a tier-1 college brand name (engineer from tier 1-2 college)
2- Using campus placements for getting into product role
3- I know it fits nowhere in the list of a genuine reason, but really want to go back to college life
