- Keep your mouth shut about it, including to coworkers who are doing the same
- Never work on freelance stuff on your work computer
- Make sure you are 100% fulfilling every aspect of your regular job so no one gets suspicious, that should always come before any freelance work
Yeah agreed better to stay quiet about it. And for sure, my real job hasn’t suffered. As far as they know lol
If you’re making enough money at it, setup an LLC and operate under an alias. The LLC will have its own EIN number you should be good even working for the same holding company. Get that bag.
Yeah this 👆 if you can don’t contract W2 as a person but set yourself up as a vendor/1099 billing to the client as a business for all the freelance gigs. Depends on where your working some holding companies try and really insist on W2 but a lot of freelancers double W2 and 1099 (through an LLC or S-Corp)
If you’re doing all that, not likely - but - make sure to never take any job for the same holding company where you are full time. You’ll get found out by payroll.
Obviously
👀 Found you.
You hear that knock on the door?
You shoulda never bragged about your side projects.
Fishbowl is just an elaborate sting operation to catch moonlighting ad creatives.
Ok. Lol
No one cares as long as your work is getting done
Wait do recruiters not hire people if they say they freelance?
Why aren’t you asking your close co-workers who are doing the same? Seems like they’d be a good resource. Right?
You're lucky to have both freelance and a full time position. I can't seem to get either at the mo. 2nd & 3rd stage interviews, then ghosted!
Is there an explicit prohibition in your contract?
