Titles don’t really matter. Are you happy in you’re role?
Salaries do matter, so definitely negotiate that or jump ship
Been in this same boat before! I would say if you’ve already tried to navigate within your current company (such as applying for another role) then go for the new company! Of course I would do your research regarding the small company and making sure your role has a trajectory and that the company is doing well within the market (both current and future state). Also, the culture of the company is important too!
Jump. Take the opportunity. Enjoy it. Then, come back to the Fortune 500 companies better prepared to get a good role and the right pay.
Negotiate your salary and job title if that’s all you dislike
You need to raise this with your manager and tell them what you think and what you think you are worth and why you believe this. If you don’t get the response you would like, you know it’s time to move on.
Go for it! What are you losing by being at the smaller company?
Taking your perspective, it's not wrong to take a leap if it means growth and fulfilment. However, if you are a valued employee with fair contribution to the company, I'd rather discuss your concerns than let you leave. At the end of the day, however, it all boils down to what would make you happy. The human condition is normally motivated by that rather than compensation anyway.
Wow these are all great advice, thank you!
