It is not you, it is the current market scenario. And don’t get embarrassed, it happens sometimes.
All the best.
Not nearly as embarrassing as having no family and ending up homeless. #perspective
Had the same issue here. I started looking in April and didn't hired until July. My new job is not a career and is nothing like my experience or education. Stay versatile and open as this is an odd work environment to navigate.
As a former government employee i was told that there is a negative stigma slanted towards us. This came up during a interview I had for a Executive Sales position. They asked me if I could handle the work volume being a former government employee. I was kind of confused and asked for clarification? The Hiring manager advised that I her experience government employees were lazy and sar around all day. I was shocked and appalled! I have never ran into any of these folks and was kind of angry about this image being painted about people.
Good luck and think outside of the box. Reduce your debt as much as possible to keep things normal.
It happens my friend . Just keep applying and keep your head up . Things will come your way soon.
I've been unemployed since January 2025 - Still looking still praying.
It's not easy, I am 60 and applied to over 80 jobs, laid off in April. I am not willing to give up at all, I have had some amazing interviews and feel that there is definitely age discrimination out there, but keep in mind, most companies that aren't growing or expanding aren't hiring and the majority seem to be cutting back giving others more to do, not paying retirement benefits seems to be the new thing that I have heard. We have to "network" more, not something that I am used to doing.
its been a year for me and it's not getting any better. would you like fries with that?
keep going! stay positive!
It's not you at all....job market is challenging for everyone at the moment.... i am finding out companies don't have the budget to hire anyone - i been seeing most positions I am applying for are being put on 'hold' status (contract work]. Also be aware that job scams are on the rise as well !!!
I was unemployed for 2 years during the financial crisis
Don’t be embarrassed. It’s not you. I’m so sorry. I hope it gets better. Ugh
Do not feel bad - we are all going through it! mine has been a year now - first time in ages! I did not expect this at all! Been getting job scams from so call 'recruiters'...an email get sent to me regarding a job, BUT in the email I see red flags....those are being sent to FTC. The answer? "keep searching!" stay positive, keep the energy. Remember you are part of the Universe!
