300ish, based on my last 4 years
Looking at it based on a single number doesn’t make sense. If you do a lot of sell side of carve-out work you can divide the number of DD’s with a factor of 3-4 compared to buy side work
I think the most important is how you’d sell yourself on a job interview. Do you know the process, have you tried different sectors and/or are you specialized anywhere
Average... I'd say 6 per year.
Seems a bit low, no? M&A market wasn’t great this past year and even with that I’ve done over 30. Wouldn’t it be more when the market isn’t as bad?
It really depends on your industry and role within the firm.
I used to be on a DD focused team and averaged 3 to 4 DDs concurrently throughout the year (20-40annually depending on scope and deal velocity)
Now in different area of strategy and only doing 3-4 DDs annually.
What are of strategy did you move to?
