If everyone who works in advertising all agree to follow each other, can we all be influencers?
Did I just solve the industry death spiral?
That’s LinkedIn
Be careful what you wish for is all I have to say about being an influencer (source: trust me bro)

Depends how niche the audience is and how much they spent, probably at least a few hundred thousand if more general, even then idk if it'll be that much of a living.
At least 1m for decent brand deals. But your engagement percentile matters more tbh
How much is decent though? Of i could get like 5 20k deals a year, id be happy
At least 1
That shit ain’t easy .. trust me
It's actually really easy, just a lot of work
I had a blog that made between $150k-$450k for a few years. Was great. Never had to live on social either. But traffic disappeared about 2 years ago.
Their algorithm and AI summary have basically killed the Internet at this point. Why pay us when they can just keep all the money? Most niche sites are going under, it seems.
If you post your handle and we all follow, will that help?
Then I’ll get fired before I’m ready to quit
it really depends on your content. there are micro influencers with less than 6k followers getting brand deals
I decided to as google your question OP, and this is what it says: "The exact number of followers needed to quit your job and become a full-time influencer is difficult to say because it varies greatly depending on several factors, such as your niche, platform, engagement rate, and how you choose to monetize your influence. However, here's what the search results indicate:
Starting point:
You can begin to monetize your social media presence with as few as 1,000 engaged followers, especially through avenues like affiliate marketing.
Some sources suggest 10,000 followers as a benchmark minimum for attracting brand sponsorships, as it often enables features like Instagram's "swipe up" link in Stories, which is attractive to brands.
Earning Potential & Follower Count (examples):
Nano-influencers (1K-10K followers): Can earn around $50-$300 per sponsored post.
Micro-influencers (10K-100K followers): Can earn between $300-$1,000 per sponsored post.
Macro-influencers (100K-1M followers): Can earn between $1,000-$10,000 per sponsored post.
Mega-influencers (1M+ followers): Can earn over $10,000 per sponsored post, with some high-profile individuals commanding significantly more.
Beyond Follower Count:
Engagement Rate: This is arguably more important than follower count. Brands value genuine interaction (likes, comments, shares) as it indicates a strong connection with your audience and can justify higher rates.
Niche: Specializing in a specific niche with a passionate community can attract higher-paying brand deals due to targeted marketing opportunities.
Diversification of Income Streams: Most creators and influencers don't rely solely on sponsored content. They diversify their earnings through various methods like:
Affiliate marketing
Selling digital products (e.g., e-books, courses)
Selling merchandise
Paid subscriptions or exclusive content
Ad revenue from platforms like YouTube or blogs
Consulting or freelance content creation
In conclusion, while 1,000 followers might be a starting point for some monetization opportunities, a follower count of 10,000 or more can unlock more significant brand partnerships. However, ultimately, your success and ability to quit your job as a full-time influencer will depend on building an engaged community, creating high-quality content, and effectively leveraging various income streams."
Thanks a bunch, that’s super helpful. I’m almost at 30K
