I’ve been churning cards over the last year and have found it worthwhile
What does churning mean
9 cards. 2 travel cards (CSR + Bilt), 2 points cards (CFU + CFF; points combine with CSR for travel), 5 cash back cards.
Look into churning if you want to get super lucrative. Start with Chase cards if you want any, given their 5/24 rule.
Chase only allows new cards if you are under 5 cards (from any issuer; most business cards are excluded) in the last 24 months. They have great cards, with the Sapphire bonuses being churnable every 48 months, so it's recommended to open Chase cards first.
CSR, Amex Plat, Amex Gold, Bilt, Chase Freedom Unlimited.
Bilt only for rent. Amex Plat is basically just a coupon book (I use I primarily for Delta lounge access, but the credits for Uber, D+/NYT/Peacock, Walmart+, etc. more than cover the annual fee). Gold I use for restaurants and grocery stores (this is probably the least useful card in the toolkit, but it’s also my longest line of credit, so I feel it’s somewhat justified, especially with the Corporate Advantage discount). CSR for travel-related things. Freedom Unlimited for everything else.
Pro
CSR, CFU, CIBC, CIBU, United Explorer, Bilt, Hilton Honors, WF Active Cash, WF Platinum, WF Cash Wise
If you travel and understand points, the more cards the merrier. If you’re new to points or really don’t travel at all, I’d suggest starting out with a great foundational card like an Amex Plat, chase Sapphire, or capital one venture x
I have the Cap1 VX, CSP, CFU, CF, CF Flex, Amex Gold, Amex Everyday, Amazon Amex Business, Discover It, BofA 1.5% card
