Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

So I just recently passed my CPA exams and I’m now looking for new opportunities. I’m hoping to work at a big 4 firm in tax and possibly connect with anyone working there right now. Please reach out to me, I would look forward to connecting and learning more about potential opportunities. Thanks!EY PwC Deloitte KPMG

Most accounting firms won’t promote to you manager (or equivalent) without a CPA. If you have a career goal of being a partner, etc. you need a CPA. If you plan to stay a staff or senior, then not an issue. Most firms also won’t keep a lifer as a senior.

Thanks for the feedback, it’s definitely something for me to consider because I do eventually want to move up the ranks
There are roles outside of working for firms where you don’t necessarily need it. However, people that have it tend to think people are better because they have it, which isn’t always true.
You can work and make a decent living without one. However, you may hit a ceiling depending on where you work and what you want to do. It took 20 years for it to happen to me, but I was passed over for a position for someone because they had a CPA and I didn’t. I had the experience. They learned the hard way that was a bad decision.

I’m glad it ended up biting them in the ass lol. I think I might get it done just to avoid those situations
You need some kind of accreditation theses days to progress past a certain level - super important
