When I realize either a) it has gotten too tight / loose and b) when I start finding holes.
I love this! What a sustainable way to dress. :)
As my needs change. Got a lot of loungewear over the past few months. When I bought my home, I got more nice pjs because I spend a lot of time in them and it makes me feel good/adult/ accomplished.

Only when I feel the need to. I'm trying not to spend too much on clothing. I have too many clothes left unused and that's the problem I need to solve.
This is my mindset years ago. I always think I need to regularly update my wardrobe. But as I age, I don't see the practicality of it all. I only buy when I need to.
I used to update my wardrobe all the time. I try to follow all trends and now I'm left with a pile of clothes I'll never ever wear. Lesson learned.
I only update my wardrobe when I realize I gained/lost weight and that nothing fits me anymore. I try to minimize my fashion pollution.
I just buy a few pieces here and there but not really do a major upgrade because I don't really feel the need to. I make sure every piece I buy is versatile.
