How’s everyone holding up?

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

potentially dumb question but who do you ask for references??? obviously wouldn’t want to be asking managers before actually accepting an offer, but ive been w the same company my whole career so?

I’ve been having a super hard time concepting lately, especially knowing that the “concept” will mostly serve as a sticker to slap on the cover of a CVA and the top of a website. I feel like every pharma concept I’ve ever seen or created becomes so cheesy once it appears in tactics. Does anyone have any examples of HCP creative (non-DSA) that is both impactful and translates well into pharma tactics?

Its 2020 and I’ve still to this day am the only Latina Attorney or Latinx attorney at all in my office and have been at every office since I became a lawyer (2014). It’s so effing lonely...

Have you found a Latinx mentor in your office? How many Latinx attorneys do you work alongside? For my first two years, the answer has been no and zero.

So I had an interview in early September and a second interview almost 2 weeks ago. I received an email with an update last week, essentially saying that the interview went well and they would follow up with me. It’s been about a week. Should I follow up? If so, any advice on how to write that email?

I’m a third year associate wanting to leave my second law firm. My first two years of practice I was at a small firm and left to a mid-size firm to practice insurance defense. I have enjoyed the practice but not the firm. The firm’s culture is toxic. The firm has had 7 attorneys leave in the last year. Is it wrong for me to wanting to leave? Will i give the impression of being a job hopper? Does it really matter?

I’m getting ready for my first review: what kind of raise did you get after your first year? My firm doesn’t have a lock-step increase, so I don’t know what to expect or what to ask for.

Hello! It seems this bowl is not very active but I'd like it to be. So here's my story: Born & raised in PR, moved to CA for undergrad & have been here since then. I graduated from law school in 2019, followed by a 2 yr bk clerkship. I did the evening program. I really enjoyed law school, in spite of the microaggressions, the late nights, & crazy competition. Love all things diversity in the law. Anyway, currently looking for a position in NYC/DC area. 🤗

I am the only latina in my office and culturally sometimes I hit these invisible walls that make me feel so incredibly self conscious. I am the first to have a degree in my family so they do support me but there’s a huge gap. I want to know how to navigate big law/private practice without losing myself & culture
