Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I definitely think you're being a little bit underpaid, and the fact that you haven't had a raise in a couple of years is concerning. I would say you should be closer to the $98,000 range, maybe even low six figures, because of how much experience you have.

Unless you're either the owner or on the board of a company there is absolutely no reason to stay at one employer for more than 48 months. At this point you should have already used the last year researching and planing your exit strategy....and should already be out the door towards your next employer...
105k, but that took me a lot of shopping around to get into. I’d encourage you to do the same and see what’s around.
