I am almost 65 years old and in pretty good health for my age. Recently, my employer closed the division that I lead and managed. I have many different skills and experience; however, it has been some time since I have worked in those other industries.

I am finding it extremely difficult gaining employment most certainly because of my age. I find this unfair because I can run circles around co-workers much, much younger than I.

Does anyone have any suggestions to offer?

Ditto followers, I am experiencing the same age discrimination battle. 🙏🏼

How about consulting? I am sure you know a lot and could teach younger professionals.

Maybe you could contact a local temp agency. They could find you contracts and that would get your foot in the door of some businesses. A lot of companies that use temp agencies do it so they can test candidates without getting through the full onboarding process for a new employee, but many are really looking to fill actual positions.

I love a well behaved dog.

But dog hype and what dog owners get away with in terms of occupying human spaces, jumping on strangers with dirty paws, going to a friends house and having the dogs harass you for food, and obsession on the dating apps is next level obnoxious.

Dogs can be great, not a hater. But if you can’t control your dog you’re a massive piece of shit for imposing that on everyone else.

So I’m engaged in an interview process for a top FinTech company. It started the 1st week of August and just now I’ve gotten word from my recruiter that they didn’t update on any decisions made. I had my 3rd & final interview last Friday. My recruiter doesn’t communicate well nor does she let me communicate with the company direct. May I being led on? Am I still in the race for this role in your opinion with the details stated. Please message me if you would like to know more in detail.

Does anyone have any tips or insights on certifications or skill training I should invest in to help make me more recession-proof?

Hi all. I’m a ux designer at a small company and need to recruit a few people for usability testing. Our target demographic is people over the age of 35 who’ve been in leaderships positions. If you’re interested I’ll send the link- the test will take about 15-30 minutes and pays 20$. No human interaction required.

Is your firm treating 12/26 and 12/27 as firm holiday since the 24th and the 25th are during the weekend this year? Of course client demands would dictate whether people will be working, but curious what the official policy is. For what it’s worth, my firm treated the day after thanksgiving as holiday and I didn’t have to work for the whole day.

6’0 and weighed in at 220lbs today. All time high and have gained 20lbs since gyms closed in March. When I did workout it was more or less 100% compound lifts. I’m now limited to a few kettlebells but am not even close to as consistent as I was. Any idea on how I can lose this excess 20lbs? I feel like it crept up over night.
