Buddy there are rockets flying between countries and consulting firms are forcing people to travel - why would you want to subject yourself to that kind of work culture?
Big fan of Middle East btw - just not of the sweatshops they run from Dubai to Riyadh
Because i want to be closer to family, been abroad for 10 years and my parents are getting older
With 4 years, you should push for manager for big4, but wouldn’t recommend making the move now. Better to wait for a couple of months and see how the pipelines r recovering
M2, i never asked you for advice, stay in your lane, ill be just fine if i ever do move and id probably run circles around your insecure self aswell.
HoT1, people in the region have always been pretentious, its alright I lived in the Middle East around one point of my life aswell, i get their attitude, however in no shape or form does Middle Eastern talent compete with US talent’s caliber. The sheer size, complexity, and advancement in size of both organizations and problems I deal with are light years ahead of whats in the region. Thank you for the advice.
I made the jump from US to Dubai in consulting. Culture, clients, and products are incredibly different here (even within firms). I suggest you find people to talk to at these levels who can give you an honest view within your firm. I transferred within the firm which made it both easier and harder. You can be a high performer in the US and bottom out here pretty easily.
